From Worst to First!
It wasn't pretty but in the NFL a win is a win!! The Eagles, who have gotten off to one of its worst starts in years, 0-2-1, returned from San Francisco with a 25 to 20 win against a 49ers team that has as many injuries as the Birds. With their first win of the season the Eagles find themselves in first place in a weak NFC East. Being in first place in the East is not saying much because the teams combined record in the NFC East is 3-12-1. It won't take much to win the division but the Eagles next two games are against the AFC North division best two teams who's combined record is 6-1. One team has one of the best defenses and the other has one of the best offenses in the league. Carson Wentz was ok but still did not play like a $128 million QB. His numbers were avg, going 18 of 28 for 193 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT with a QB rating of 81.4. Eagles Head coach Doug Pederson had to simplify the offense with all the injuries on offense and a struggling QB. The strategy worked using a balanced attack running the ball 28 times and throwing the ball 28 times. Its something the coaches critics have been complaining about over the last two years. Facing their next two opponents ( Pittsburgh, Baltimore) Doug Pederson better stay the course on offense with his balanced attack if they have any chance of winning each game.
