Howie... innovative, progressive, trailblazer, lets hope so!

The NFL held their draft on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and America watched!! During the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020 in which the sports world has been put on hiatus, the NFL conducted its draft in quarantine like the rest of us. They did a good job putting on a show that was as important to the NFL as it was for sports fans starving for something to cheer and boo for. We watched and the numbers prove it. The NFL averaged a record 8.4 million viewers over all three days of broadcasting on TV. The Thursday night numbers attracted 15.6 million viewers. Lets get back to normal as soon as possible!!!! It was exciting and fun, if only for a moment and until it was the Eagles turn. Eagles GM Howie Roseman and the rest of the Eagles " Braintrust" held the twenty first pick. We all thought the Eagles were going to get the WR that was still there and that everyone who thinks they are experts thought would be picked.... wasn't. The Eagles went with a WR out of TCU Jalen Reagor. My first reaction was ... Who??? What is he doing??? I would love to seen the faces of the majority of Eagles fans when the pick was announced !! Things got even more unconventional from there as the Birds second round pick was even more controversial. Howie Roseman used his 2nd round (53) pick on QB Jalen Hurts out of Oklahoma. My first reaction was ... WTF.... What is he doing??? Unbelievable!!!! Don't we have a franchise QB on our team? Didn't we just pay him over a $100 million on him? The explanation from the organization is the league is changing. We need play makers. We want to be multidimensional and having Hurts on our team gives us options. It also can have a negative affect. Creative, innovative, progressive and a head of the curve? Lets hope so because this draft will make or break the Eagles and Howie Roseman and the dreams of loyal Eagles fans.

The rest of the Eagles picks 3 through 7

(RD) ( overall)

LB Davion Taylor, Colorado (3) 103

S K'Von Wallace, Clemson (4) 127

OL Jack Driscoll, Auburn (4) 145

WR John Hightower, Boise State (5) 168

*LB Shaun Bradley, Temple- (6) 196

WR Quez Watkins, Southern Miss (6) 200

OT Prince Tega Wanogho, Auburn (6) 210

*LB Casey Toohill, Stanford  (7) 233

I give the Eagles a C grade on this draft class.

Most of the value in this Eagles draft is usually comes in from the middle rounds 2 through 5. We will see how it turns out. I think the Eagles best pick will turn out to be K'Von Wallace (S) out of Clemson. He will be a pro bowl player for the Eagles.
