Merry Christmas!!

This is a wonderful time of year and I want to take the time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New year! We have been through a lot as individuals and as country. We can't lose sight of why we celebrate Christmas and the joy of family and friends. The Covid-19 has challenged us as a society, it has shown how vulnerable we are. As we reflect on the last year ,2020 ,keep in mind what is important to you and lets try to stay positive and be happy and healthy in the upcoming year. Last February and March when the pandemic started to rear its ugly head our country's leaders decided to shut down everything, businesses, entertainment, schools at every level, almost all facets of our society for the safety of the general public. It was devastating, millions of people lost their jobs and family members succumbed to the dreaded virus. The Sports world was shut down and anybody who worked in and around sports was affected. Sports radio had to find things to talk about while the sports world was paused. The Locker Room with Billy Schweim has hung on and found a way to entertain by reminiscing about games and athletes who have graced us with their talent playing for our beloved Philly sports teams. As spring turned into summer Golf, The NHL. NBA and major league baseball fought through Covid protocols to return to play . While it wasn't perfect, never the less we had sports return at a limited basis. Sports helps us escape reality! We needed these professionals to show us the way back and overcome adversity. I want to thanks the people on the front lines who sacrificed so much and worked through the pandemic. I want to thank all my advertisers who have continued to support the show and keep us on the air.

Last week the Eagles went with Jalen Hurts for his second start. The Eagles flew to the desert to face the Arizona Cardinals. The Eagles last a close one but QB Jalen Hurts made his case for remaining the starter. Hurts played inspired football and went 24-44 for 338 yards passing with a QB rating of 102.3. Rumors are now starting to fly that Carson Wentz is unhappy with the backup role and wants out. See I told you sports has a way of making us forget about reality. This week the travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys in a must win game if the Birds have any hope of making the playoffs. The plot thickens so stay tuned!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
