Process of the 8th inning Miracle

What a game! The Phillies walked it off 11 to 8 against the Nationals in game 2 of a doubleheader in Philadelphia. The Fightin Phils overcame problems in the field and the bullpen by having strong at-bats later in the game. In the seventh inning, Andrew McCutchen and Ronald Torreyes battled back from 0-2 counts to draw walks off pitcher Tanner Rainey. JT Realmuto also battled back in the count to hit a low changeup past the infield to tie the game. In the eighth inning, the Phillies had to put a pitcher in at-bat because there were no batters left. Aaron Nola had a tough at-bat but worked out a walk to bring up Brad Miller. Miller was fouling bad pitches off but redeemed himself on a 1-2 count, to hit a walk-off over the right-field wall. Despite the struggles at the beginning of the game, Philadelphia worked Washinton’s pitchers last night and were able to win the second game,
