Quinn Sullivan, oh my gosh, wow! The rookie erased all of the Union’s mistakes that happened on Saturday night to draw the game 1-1, against FC Montreal. How?
Before the spectacular goal, Philadelphia was unorganized in the game: pushing defenders to the ground, and defending poorly. Those issues led to them having problems controlling and passing the ball unsuccessfully until Sullivan changed that for them. In the 86th minute, the ball bounced off of Montreal’s defender, Zorhan Bassong which allowed Jack Elliot to touch the ball and pass it to Sullivan for a wide-open goal. Even though Philadelphia struggled early in the game, Sullivan corrected those mistakes by controlling the ball tightly and scoring his second goal in his career.
