The Eagles live to play another day.

It was a nasty, rainy, gloomy night in South Phila. last Monday night. The bright lights of national TV cameras were focused on the( 5-7) Eagles v (2-10) Giants. A tough game to get up for and a important game for the Eagles playoff hopes. Enthusiasm for the Eagles / Giants game wasn't as it would normally be on a clear night let alone a dreary night. Dreary a word that describes the Eagles season. The fans at the Link saw the Eagles get off the a dreary start. They fell behind to an inferior Giants team on a couple of long pass completions by backup QB Eli Manning. Yes Eli Manning who's in the twilight of his career and benched for rookie QB Danial Jones. The Less than capacity crowd was less then happy with the Eagles first half effort booed the team as they headed to the locker room at halftime. The boos were loud and were clearly reaction to the way the team has played all year long. The fans voiced their feelings and objection to the lack of competitive spirit that this team is capable of showing. The second half the team came out of the locker room wiith a renewed spirit and played inspired football. They played with urgency, they played with spirit and they played with purpose!! They played like they are capable of playing. Maybe, just maybe the fans reaction played are part in the resurgence of the Eagles in the second half. The Eagles beat the Giants in overtime to move into a tie with the Dallas Cowboys at 6-7 headed to play the Redskins. This game is relevant, this game means something and this game is a must win!! If the Eagles win in Washington, they will live to to play another day!
