Thursday night football still hasn't felt right since its inception in 2006. An NFL game on Thursday night comes quick and can be a good thing or a bad thing. If your team is banged up and has suffered a large number of injuries, Thursday night football isn't a good thing. On the flip side if your team plays on Thursday night you get and additional of extra days to recover until your next game on the following Sunday. When your team plays on Thursday night and wins it's always a good thing. Last Thursday night the Eagles hosted the NY football Giants at Lincoln Financial field. It was billed as a battle for first place in the NFC East. Funny thing is neither of the teams are playing well and both teams have significant injuries to key players. Playing for first place in the NFC East isn't that impressive either. In a year that has been like no other its isn't a surprise that whoever won the game would have a total of two wins..... 2!!! The Eagles backed into a win because the sub-par Giants played small. They made several mistakes and gave the game to the Eagles. Carson Wentz, to his credit, brought the team back to win in the final minutes of the game with a beautiful catch by running back Boston Scott. The Eagles squeaked by the giants 22-21 to be in sole possession of first place in the NFC East with a record of 2-4-1. That's right, you read that right but if the Birds don't improve and win their next two games that are split by a bye in the schedule, they are doomed... I think. The only thing I liked about Thursday night football is that the Eagles won.
