The PGA to resume play . South Jersey native Steve Wilmot heads the RBC Heritage classic
Slowly the sports world tries to resume play and get back to what it does best, compete and entertain! The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted are lives and stopped all non-essential businesses in its tracks. There are so many challenges that face each league and the players moving forward. Each sport is different and keeping the players healthy and safe is paramount to play. The leagues will have to modify rules and will have to follow CDC guidelines. Most sports will start play without fans in attendance. Most fans, given a choice, would be pleased to have sports back without the ability to attend live. The NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL are all still working on negotiating a financial deal with their players on issues dealing with health, safety and money.
The PGA, however, is ready to start next week with the Charles Schwab Challenge, in Fort Worth, Texas on June 13th. Next will be the RBC Heritage classic on June 16th through the 21st at Harbor Town Golf Links in Hilton Head South Island, South Carolina. A South Jersey native from Morristown, New Jersey, Steve Wilmot is the tournament director. Steve used to spend his summers in Ocean City, NJ and is a big Eagles, Sixers Flyers and Phillies fan. Saturday on The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, Steve was our guest and we will talk with him about his South Jersey roots and his 34 years in being involved with the Heritage classic.
