Catastrophe, tragedy, shock, disbelief, misery, sorrow, sadness and denial. All these adjectives describe the reaction and sadness that the we all felt on Sunday when we heard the news of Kobe Bryant's untimely death. Like his play on the court and his larger than life prasanna,the news of this horrific accident was unbelievable. This can't be, this is inconceivable, no way. Its as if time stood still. We invest so much time an energy, love, hope in these larger than life illustrious personalities. A player like Kobe Bryant only comes around so often and and when he does we feel that they are invincible. Society elevates these mortal beings to an immortal status. We need these high profile star athletes to look up to for inspiration and to give us something or someone to believe in. Kobe Bryant was a star!!! An NBA legend that lived up to that definition and was a role model in every sense of the word. We lost an American Icon Sunday a father, a husband, a friend. I can't imagine how devastated and heartbroken his family and close friends are at this time. The sports world is in shock! America is saddened !!! There are no words of mine that could diminish the anguish the family feels. We will hear in the coming days stories about Kobe from his friends and teammates that will make us smile and cry. I'm am so thankful that I had the opportunity to watch his career and see him grow from high school to a shoe in to the Hall of Fame. Kobe's 13 year old daughter and seven other people on board makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking!!! We all lost so much on Sunday. This tragedy shows us how fragile life is and how fast it can be taken away from us!!
