Was the Sanheim deal a Bad Move?

The Philadelphia Flyers on August 21st avoided a potential divorce from the third/fourth line D-man, Travis Sanheim, by paying him $4.303 million for 2 years. Was this a bad move by the Flyers organization?

Why it’s a Bad Move

Let’s be real, the only winner here is Travis Sanheim simply because he got paid too much money that could turn into a bad situation. Why? In the 2020-21 season, Travis Sanheim seemed like he took a step back. The weaknesses Travis had was he looked confused on the ice at times, had terrible defensive form, and struggled on offense. If Sanheim does not fix his weaknesses, Philadelphia gave money to someone who will disappoint the fans again this upcoming season.
