The Eagles lost their 4th game of the season last Sunday to the Baltimore Ravens 30-28. The game wasn't really that close as the Ravens got off to a 17-0 start. The biggest take away from this game was the fact that the depleted Eagles offensive line could not protect QB Carson Wentz. Wentz was sacked 6 times and hit a total of 16 times during the game. He got his ass kicked and completed the game making it close at the end. With 2 minutes left in the game Wentz scored on a one yard TD run to bring the Eagles within two points. All the Eagles needed to do was score a two point conversion to tie it up and take the Ravens into overtime. The 2-point attempt failed and the Eagles fell to 1-4-1. Normally this horrible start to the season would spell dome for a team that has lost 9 of their 11 starters to injury on offense, but not this year. Even though the Eagles have allowed their franchise QB to be sacked a league high 25 times they are very much alive to win the NFC East.
Believe it or not the Eagles are a half game behind the Dallas Cowboys for first place, that's right ... First Place!!! The Cowboys have their problems and the NY Giants and Washington stink, so who wants it? Who will be able to put it together? The Cowboys lost their franchise QB Dak Prescott for the rest of the season. They have the worst turnover margin in the NFL at minus -12. The NY Giants lost their franchise RB Saquon Barkley for the season with an ACL injury and have other significant injuries to key starters. Giants new head coach Joe Judge has his teams record at 1-5. The Giants play the Eagles on Thursday Night football this week. The winner will have two wins and will be tied for first place.
