Phillies Drop Series To Braves while Eagles Prepare for NFL Draft

Baseball is a funny game. One week you're swinging a hot bat and the next week you're ice cold. Phillies third basemen Alec Bohm and center fielder Branden Marsh are two players that are ICE cold.

In fact both players are 1 for 38 in their last five games. It’s still April, and there is a long way to go, but Philly fans are a demanding fan base.  Pretty soon, if those guys don’t turn it around, the Phillies players could be feeling the heat. I suggest that each player makes a radical change that shows the fans they are willing to try anything to improve their persona if not their stats!

Nick Castellanos struck out five times on Thursday night in the rubber match against the Braves. The Phillies head to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals for a three game series and Aaron Nola will get the ball on Friday Night. Nola is off to a slow start at 0-2 with a 6.35 era.

The Flyers and Sixers have a combined six games left in their seasons. Each team has been very disappointing this year. Both teams have their respective drafts to look forward to.

Speaking about drafts, the NFL draft is set for April 24-26, and the Eagles hold the final pick in the First Round of this year's draft.  That’s what happens when you win the Super bowl! I’ll take that anytime. Eagles GM Howie Roseman is in a unique situation picking last. Will he continue his magic at hitting on most of his draft picks? We will talk about it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw joins me in the studio.  We will recap the Phillies -Cardinals Friday night action. Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda checks in, brought to you by the Galloway Pool Service.  Mr. Negadelphia will give us his thoughts on the Phillies, the Flyers, Sixers, and Eagles as they head to each league's drafts.

On Sunday’s show, Josh Hennig, from GameNight on 97.3 FM ESPN South Jersey will produce and "The Intern” Andrew Leeds join me in the studio.  We will review the Phillies road trip and go “On the Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz’s Market of Ocean City.  Tommy will analyze the Phillies six-game road trip and preview Sunday’s game. We will talk about the Eagles, Sixers and Flyers draft board in Hour II we will get our “High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN Radio South Jersey.
