The Philadelphia Phillies won their first series since July 11th against the same team, the Dodgers. The Phillies won their third straight game Thursday night, the first game in their four-game series against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.
The New York Mets have jumped ahead of the Atlanta Braves into second place in the National League East by a half-game as the Phillies are eight games up on the Mets in the National League East. The Phillies bats have come alive behind the power of Kyle Schwarber; Schwarber has Eight Home Runs and 19 RBI in the Phillies 19 games since the All-Star Break.
The Eagles start their pre-season schedule against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Friday Night. How much playing time will some of the starters get? This Birds team fell flat on its face at the end of last season and with the retirements of two key veterans, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox, the Eagles need to see which players will lead this year's squad.
Finally, the 2024 South Jersey Lifeguard Championships were postponed due to Tropical Storm Debbie. The Race has been rescheduled for Monday, August 12th in Brigantine at 6:30 pm right in front of LaScala’s Beach House.
