Phillies With Best Record Despite Outfielders Struggling At The Plate

The Phillies return from their west coast road trip winning only two of the six games against the Rockies and Giants.  The Phillies open up a six-game home stand as the Saint Louis Cardinals come to town first on Friday night.  While the Phillies still have the best record in the National League, their five outfielders have a combined batting average of .219

But the team's chemistry is obvious, so would it be wrong to think its time to make a move for a big bat to add to the outfield? Should Dave Dombroski and the Phillies Front Office look to make a trade or should we give the guys in the outfield time to improve at the plate?

The Eagles are wrapping up their second week of OTAs and most players attended as they get closer to next week's mandatory mini-camp.  There are less than 100 days until the Birds kickoff the 2024 season in Brazil against the Packers and we cannot wait!

Finally, all the Beach Patrols from Brigantine to Cape May Point are ready for the summer of 2024.  Most patrols that have hired new Lifeguards are evaluating which rookies could be potential competitors in the out of town races that start in July. The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will cover it all this weekend on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey!

On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw and Mike Carlin join me in the Studio.  We will recap the Phillies vs Cardinals Friday night action.  In Hour Two, The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas with his take on the NBA and NHL playoffs.  Then former Lieutenant of the Ocean City Beach Patrol Jack Brooks stops by the studio as we continue the Beach Patrol Report brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle and the OCBP Lifeguard Alumni Association.  This week we will talk with the Chief of the Ocean City Beach Patrol Eric Becker; Chief Becker will tell what the OCBP is doing to prepare for the safe summer on the beach and the 2024 Lifeguard Racing Season.

On Sunday’s Show, my Locker Room Youth Movement is back in the studio, with Producer Nick Earnshaw and "The Intern” Andrew Leeds joining me as we talk about the Eagles Offseason and Questions about the Sixers.  Every Sunday during the baseball season we go “On the Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz’s Market of Ocean City.  Tommy gives us his thoughts on the Phillies road trip before returning to Philadelphia and previews Sunday Night's Game.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, heard every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN Radio South Jersey.
