Phillies fans have to wait an extra day for the season to start because of the rain passing through the area while the rest of Major League Baseball got the 2024 season started.  Opening Day is special but it always shares the limelight with the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Most brackets are busted already, however the excitement grows with the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 frames this weekend.

The Philadelphia Flyers are fighting to hold onto the third playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division for the NHL Postseason.  The Orange and Black have eight games left in the regular season to lock up a spot in the postseason and prepare for Playoff Hockey.

Meanwhile, the Sixers are trying to stay competitive as the regular season winds down. It’s clear that the Sixers are lost without last year's NBA MVP Joel Embiid.  Even though Sixers Head Coach Nick Nurse and several NBA Reporters keep saying the Big Man will return to play before the end of the season, Philly Fans are frustrated watching their team struggle to win games.  We will cover it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

On Saturday’s show, Mike Carlin and Producer Nick Earnshaw join me in the studio.  We have a great show lined up as we will recap Game One the Phillies vs Braves series and preview Saturday's matchup.  The Sixers are back on the road again and we will review their game in Cleveland against the Cavaliers from Friday Night.  In Hour Two, The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas with his unique look at the sports weekend.  Then we will hear from former NHL player and studio analyst for the NHL on TNT, Paul Bissonnette will talk about the Flyers and the NHL playoffs.

On Sunday’s show, my Locker Room Youth Movement joins me in the studio.  Producer Danny Ryan and "The Intern” Andrew Leeds will talk the weekend in Philadelphia Sports.  The Phillies are back and so is our segment “ On The Mound” with former Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz's Market in Ocean City.  Tommy will be with us every Sunday throughout the baseball season giving his professional analysis and insights to the Phillies season.  Plus, the guys in studio will recap the results of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, heard every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.
