The Philadelphia Phillies begin the 2023 Regular Season on Thursday, March 30th in Arlington, Texas against the Rangers. But with six days before that game, the injury bug has bitten the Phillies; As Bryce Harper recovers from his offseason surgery, now three other valuable players are dealing with injuries. Rookie Pitching Phenom Andrew Painter was first to be shut down with elbow issues to be followed by Ranger Suarez who was sent home during the World Baseball Classic with forearm stiffness. Now the Phillies First Baseman and clubhouse leader, Rhys Hoskins went down with an ACL tear of his Left Knee on what looked to be a normal baseball play in Spring Training. Staying healthy is key to having a successful season in any sport so let’s hope that's the end of the injury issues for the Phillies and let's Play Ball!!

The NCAA Men's Basketball tournament has been very exciting with plenty of upsets and Cinderella stories with the Sweet 16 this week and Elite Eight this weekend! The Sixers are back on a west coast road trip this weekend facing some of the best teams in the Western Conference while Joel Embiid continues to make his case to be NBA MVP. Finally, the Eagles continue to sign free agents into the nest adding new Safeties Justin Evans (formerly of the Saints) and Terrell Edmunds (formerly with the Steelers) as GM Howie Roseman continues to retool the roster this offseason. We will talk about it all in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim this weekend!

On Saturday’s show, Josh Hennig joins me in the studio along with Andrew Leeds to react on the Sixers road trip against the three top teams in the Western Conference plus the latest Eagles and Phillies news. The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan will check in from Las Vegas with his expertise on the NCAA Basketball games this weekend. In Hour Two, we will hear from former Philadelphia Flyers Forward Brian Propp. Brian suffered a stroke and is having a golf tournament “The Guffaw Classic” to raise money and awareness for stroke victims plus fund more research. Brian is one of the good guys and best in Flyers history so we are looking forward to talk with him.

On Sunday’s show, I will be outnumbered again with The Locker Room Youth Movement: Danny Ryan and Andrew Leeds will gang up on me again talking about the latest Philly Sports news. In the first hour, we will once again go “On the Mound” with Tommy Greene. Tommy is back with us every Sunday throughout the baseball season to analyze the Phillies. This year “On The Mound” with Tommy Greene is being brought to you by the John R. Elliott Hero Campaign for Designated Drivers. In Hour Two, we will hear from the Head of Sports Medicine at Virtua, Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Sean McMillian. Doctor McMillian will talk about Rhys Hoskins' ACL injury to his left Knee. Plus we wont forget about the Eagles, Sixers and Flyers talk this weekend.

It’s The Locker Room with Billy Schweim every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to Noon on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.
